"The CD's for the Tring record company are the first ones for me, and go back to the days when I was leading the cello section of the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra. It was an exciting opportunity for us string principals, to break away from the orchestral sound and work as a quartet. We rehearsed a lot, I remember, and felt very creative, never leaving a bowing untried!"
